Jermaine Merritt, a Houston, Texas native, has called Dallas, Texas, home for several years and ˮ��ർ�� home for the past two years. Familiar with the ˮ��ർ�� (ˮ��ർ��) community, Jermaine has recruited numerous transfer students through the Office of Undergraduate Admission and now brings his talents and experience to the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Recruitment.

With a passion for education, Jermaine earned his Bachelor’s in Mass Media from Stephen F. Austin State University. He then pursued his Master’s in Higher Education Administration at Sam Houston State University. Jermaine has built a diverse career in higher education, working in undergraduate admissions, student affairs, and the nonprofit sector. His love for higher education continues to grow as he strives to help students realize their full potential and transition to the university and program that’s right for them.

At ˮ��ർ��, Jermaine looks forward to working with students and their families, showcasing all that ˮ��ർ�� and the Dedman College have to offer. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, attending concerts, and exploring new restaurants in Dallas, so don’t hesitate to ask for his recommendations!
