Faculty Position: LeVan Chair in Preaching and Worship

Perkins School of Theology at Ë®¶à¶àµ¼º½ invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to fill the LeVan Chair in Preaching and Worship.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and ministry formation, contributing to the M.Div., M.A.M., M.S.M., and continuing education programs, and, when appropriate, to the Ph.D. curriculum in Religious Studies at Ë®¶à¶àµ¼º½.
Responsibilities

Teach courses in worship and preaching across Perkins’ degree programs and instructional formats (in-person, online, and hybrid).

Produce scholarship and publications in the field of worship.

Participate fully in the life of Perkins, Ë®¶à¶àµ¼º½, and the Graduate Program in Religious Studies, including governance and community engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
-
Demonstrated achievement or promise as a scholar and teacher in worship.
-
Demonstrated achievement or promise as a teacher in preaching.
-
Commitment to preparing leaders for the church, Christian ministry, and the academy.

Ability to teach across all Perkins degree programs and modes of instruction.

Dedication to working in a religiously and theologically diverse community.

Ordination in a Christian denomination.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Knowledge of and appreciation for United Methodist and other Christian worship traditions.

Experience in pastoral leadership and chapel ministry.

Promise as a scholar in preaching.

Ability to teach in church music.
-
Collaborative spirit and openness to interdisciplinary teaching and research.
